Zip 'Fearless' Brand Launch

Design and Motion Lead

I’ve worked on the launch and rollout of the new global ‘fearless’ brand which LA-based branding agency Koto developed for Zip, a leading BNPL. I really enjoyed shaping and adapting this new brand vision across all owned and partner channels, by testing it in the wild and then building out our guidelines based on the learnings. I was responsible for driving brand consistency across the global multi-channel roll-out, while also focusing on localisation across ANZ —including campaigns, style guides, merchant playbooks, video/motion, social, app, web and point of sale.

The pocket

The ‘i’ device is called the ‘pocket’ which comes to life in motion. I led the stage of defining our new motion style across brand, product and campaigns.

We launched with a brand campaign titled ‘Zip for the people’ celebrating Zip’s customer-centric products. I led the art direction, as we portrayed fresh slice-of-life moments that resonated with our new brand.

I initially experimented with a couple styles as we were gauging which direction would work best with our new brand. We ended up going for a more polished approach with clean lines and symbolic representations.
